What is Laminate Flooring?
Laminate flooring is a man-made material often composed of a plastic or wood core and a surface layer that resembles metal, wood, stone, ceramic tiles or any other hard type of surface.
The laminate was created in the 1950s for commercial buildings because it was less expensive than natural materials. They have been around for years but have recently gained popularity among homeowners because they are less costly and easy to maintain.

Laminate flooring is a good option for many homeowners because it can be installed regardless of the layout style. It can be installed over existing flooring or laid from scratch to create new flooring. How Should You Care for Laminate?

Don't drag heavy furniture across the floor or leave anything that emits heat (like furniture or baseboard heaters) against the walls where they might scorch the surface; this will also make the flooring less resistant to scratches. Also, avoid using abrasives like steel wool or scouring pads on laminate floors because they can scratch the surface. Using a soft cloth and warm water for cleaning is ideal.
Finally, never use any floor cleaners or finishes on laminate floors because they can severely damage the surface and reduce durability.

I came across Arnett of Footprint Floors after moving into our house and needing someone to install laminate flooring in our downstairs area. I had contacted Home Depot and their quote was astronomical so Arnett came out and gave me a quote the next day and instead of telling me I'd have to wait 3-5 weeks as Home Depot did, he came out on a Monday, told me he could get a crew in on Friday to do the leveling and then start the install on Saturday and have it finished that day. True to his word, that is exactly what happened, I picked up the supplies and had them waiting for his crew at the house and the came out Friday and finished the project on Saturday and it looks absolutely incredible. Cannot thank Arnett for staying true to his word in a time when I was stressed and dealing with a huge move while trying to get all of our projects finished so our toddler could safely play downstairs. I can't say enough good things about our experience. From start to finish very professional and responsive. We were in a situation where we had flooring and needed it installed. The company who was supposed to do the original install gave us excuses as to why they couldn't do it so we fired them and called Footprints Flooring.
