Brian graduated from Cal State University, Chico, with plans of coaching baseball and teaching. After coaching two years of High School varsity baseball, however, life took him in another direction. He had an opportunity to get into the flooring industry as a manufacturer rep for multiple lines of installation materials for the tile and stone trade. As a result, Brian has been a manufacturer rep in the Flooring Industry since 2003. He first worked with Laticrete, which manufactures products for the installation of Tile and Stone. Then for the last 10 years, Brian was with MAPEI, which manufactures setting materials for floor covering installations including tile and stone. While in these positions, Brian would present to architects, assist with their specifications, train and update distributor employees of proper materials to recommend to their customers, as well as deal with the largest and smallest of flooring contractors, helping them with installation solutions, product recommendations as well as helping identify failures or issues with finished installations. Being in these roles required the learning and understanding of industry standards for the trade.
