This month, we had the opportunity to interview Footprints Floors Durham, NC owner Rob Ricco!
Q: How did you get started with Footprints Floors? A: I was working 60+ hours a week as an Overhead Supervisor at ConEdison, a large utility company in NYC. I worked weekends, holidays, and frequently traveled out of town for weeks at a time. My Wife, Sara, and I always talked about leaving New York and the long work hours behind. Two kids later, we decided it was time to seek a better quality of life for our family, and settled on North Carolina for our new beginning. Given my 20+ years in the flooring business, we decided that exploring flooring franchises would be the best option. After attending discovery day and meeting with Bryan, going with Footprints Floors was a no brainer.
Q: Tell us about your family! A: My wife's name is Sara and our kids are Amelia (age 4) and Rob Jr (RJ, age 2). Our cocker spaniel mix's name is Gus, he is 15 years old.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working for Footprints Floors? A: Being a business owner and having the freedom to make my own schedule, while still having support when I need it. Footprints Floors is a family run business, and there is nothing better than family.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies? A: I love having the best of both worlds in North Carolina- being in the middle of the beach and the mountains is great. We spend summer at the beach and winter in the mountains. I spend time doing local activities with my wife and kids on the weekend. I love catching new movies as well.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share to help us get to know you better? A: I have pushed myself more in my first year as a business owner, than I ever thought possible. With that being said; I wouldn't trade any of it- the breakfasts and dinners that I have spent with my family, the knowledge that I've gained, and the freedom that I have earned.
